Shem Symon was admitted to the Johannesburg Society of Advocates in 1986 and took silk in August 2004. His preferred areas of practice include contract, company, banking, auditor’s liability, and insolvency and liquidation law. He appears primarily in the High Courts, the Supreme Court of Appeals and in arbitrations – in which he has considerable experience. In addition to his practice, he has been an acting judge in the High Courts, a commissioner in the Small Claims Court and an arbitrator in private arbitrations. Shem holds a BA LLB and an MBA.
